Beech wood house

5 Dogget Ln, Fulbourn, Cambridge CB21 5BT, UK – 07767 846957

We had an amazing stay at Beechwood, the owners are lovely and we there to great us. We were even left a home baked cake and fizz. The house is incredibly well equipped and has loads of space. The rooms are comfortable, there are enough bathrooms to go around, the garden is massive and the swimming pool is lovely and warm. Perfect for groups or family get togethers

Lovely big house. It was perfect for a big family get together. Also has a heated pool and massive garden. The village of Fulbourn is a slightly odd, sprawling mixture of pretty thatch and newer, much less attractive housing. There's an interesting ancient Saxon earthwork nearby, if you fancy a country walk.

Holiday Inn Express Cambridge

Coldhams Business Park, Coldhams Park, 15-17 Norman Way, Cambridge CB1 3LH, UK – 0871 902 1605

Easy to find off the A14, check in easy and quick. Room was large and clean, bed comfortable. There was air con but I prefer to have a window open, a desk fan was also provided ( for people reading this review in the future the UK is currently experiencing a heat wave!) Evening meal choices not extensive but the burger was good, service on the slow side but I wasn’t in a rush. Good choices at breakfast, although the coffee wasn’t the nicest. Overall great business hotel, shame bottled water wasn’t provided in the rooms, it would have been a nice touch in the heat.

Everything here you need in a hotel. Comfortable & quiet room, good parking, very helpful staff. Limited food options on the menu. It's about a 2 mile walk into Cambridge, although there's a bus-stop a few minutes walk away. We walked - not a bad distance, a straight road in and lined with small shops and cafés. We'd be happy to stay here again.

Cottages.com used to be called Cottages4You. It was one the first and one of the biggest of the Holiday Cottage Rental websites. They have over 14,000 properties - and so should have one near where you where you would like to go - not only anywhere in the UK but they have lots of overseas properties as well.

The website is really fast and simple to use. I fact it is close to a no-nonsense approach! It does what it says on the tin.  Good hunting.

Well worth a look. The properties are well presented - each with a property manager. I did see that they don't have their telephone number under their photo!

Definately a slick and believable website. Enjoy!

ToadHall.jpg
Toad Hall Cottages are also very well established and specialise in the South West. They do Pet Friendly Cottages which can be a bonus for lots of families. They also to 'big' and 'luxury' if that is your bag. Go with a crowd - some of the best holidays are with friends!

Stunning Ancient Devon Longhouse with B & B

Milton Abbot A wonderful 17th Century farmhouse set in the heart of the Devon countryside near the historic and beautiful town of Tavistock on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park. Great walks in private wood...
If you have to have sun - or atleast more sun - you might like to have a look at the villas below. Some will be lovely in the spring in autumn when we are rather winding down in the UK - to say the least!
JamesVillasLogo.jpg
James Villas as the name suggested just do 'Abroad'. They were one of the first big ones. If you are interested in Europe, North Africa or Florida give them a click. Huge choice and flashy site. Enjoy!
